Bachevo is a small village in the Pirin mountains, next to Bansko Ski resort. The center of the village has preserved its authentic atmosphere and with it's proximity to the Ski facilities of Bansko, Bachevo has great potential as a preferred destination for sport and tourism in the nature. The Resort project is a concept for mixed development, populating the hill above the village with a number of bungalows, and few tall chalets. The architectural project was designed in 2008 by me, with the consultation and support of Kapitel 2000 Ltd.. The visualizations are created with the cooperation of the 3D artist Illya Gamza.

Because the terrain and the landscape of the hill, where the project is located are so unique, we opted for the low environment impact approach. The bungalows are footed onto pillar foundations. This method has three strengths - first low amount of excavation works for foundations, second preserving the natural structure of the hill and third - the bungalows are lifted above the ground, which makes them accessible and easy to maintain, even in snowy winters.
